Pamwagg’s Art

For a view of most of my art work since 2008, when I started, see Pamwagg’s Opera of Art, at my Flickr site, which you can get to  from the front page where it says: More Photos. There is also a folder about psychiatry and psychiatric-treatment inspired art.

“The Mottster Rocks Out”…My downstairs neighbor, Jason Mott, who is a real sweetheart in his forties, drums to his heart’s delight and manages to put my tired brain into deep sleep most afternoons. Go figger. Rock On, Mott, Go for it! (note from 2017, the Mottster portrait was my first picture done in Brattleboro, but little did I know that Mott,  as I call him, would become my best friend the way he is now, even though I no longer live just upstairs.)

  1. Your work is so good Pamela. You will go down in history as one of the great female artists of our time. Along with Leonora Carringinton and Shani Reece James of Wales you are my favorite artist. I so love your work. Please finish the most important one to you the one of Facebook. Finish it. Have it done with. Get it out of your system. The abuse they tormented you with.

  2. You have AMAZING talent. Sooo will be following you. Your books are ordered today and can’t wait to read them. I would like to add that in all the Occupational Therapy classes for in patients whilst in hospital I have seen there the most remarkable artwork produced. By people who were never nurtured or believed they could produce artwork of any value. What do art professionals know when they are sterilized by theory and the greatest artwork comes from within as an emotional transient production. And is something to be worked at and developed because it’s an expression of emotions. Everyone of us has that capability to express yourself in art. Hence children from a young age drawing and loving it before the shame set in and they believed they were not capable. Got to go now will be busy ordering your books. heh

  3. I do eyes in almost all of my drawings and paintings, so I guess I have done it since I started, six years ago, yes. If you are referring to the “What’s Bugging Me?” picture, with all the eyes and the worm in the ear and the dung beetles, I did that one (I’m looking at it over my shoulder now, to verify the date) 2011. I started doing art in 2008. So it was early but not my earliest.

  4. Erm, since how long have you been painting eyes as features in your pictures and paintings? How interesting!

Don’t tell me, the eye ones are about 6 years old?

  5. Thank you, Laurel. Soon I will be uploading the first PAINTING I have done in a long while..I stopped painting because I wanted to teach myself to draw. and now I am taking up paints again..with some trepidation. A great deal in fact. But i gotta do it! You will see.

  6. Hi Andrew, no the large figures are of papier mache painted with acrylic metallic paints. The little figurines, the beatnik band for example, if you do a search for it, and those others, are polymer clay, And By the way I didn’t think you would steal my images. Just worried about non-artist types who want posters, but then again, let them have them…who cares?

  7. Rest assured I won’t copy your images, they are safe where you wish them to be. Are the figures made of polymer? I just can’t imagine how many blocks they would take… They are my favourite though, although there is a vibrancy and depth to everything you do, thank you

  8. As I said when I telephoned you, you are amazing. Thank you for inspiration. For your blog. For staying in even though you might have wanted to bail. I am so glad you found me. So glad to know you.
